HealthCentral.com And The Washington Post's 'On Faith' Announce New Online Feature For Faith And Healing

AllInsuranceCoverage.com -  HealthCentral (www.HealthCentral.com), the leading collection of online condition-specific consumer health and wellness experiences, and The Washington Post's special feature on religion, "On Faith," today announced they will collaborate on a new daily feature exploring the relationship between faith and healing (http://newsweek.washingtonpost.com/onfaith/healthcentral/). The blog gives HealthCentral's users the ability to pose their questions on faith to a panel of religion experts, who will give their unique perspectives on real issues regarding spirituality and health.

Panelists include the Rev. Dr. Anne C Brower, senior chaplain and director of the Healing Ministry at Washington National Cathedral; Dr. Erica Brown, Director for Adult Education at The Partnership for Jewish Life and Learning; and Ramesh Rao, Human Rights Coordinator for the Hindu American Foundation among others. The blog is an extension of the Post's popular "On Faith" feature, moderated by Newsweek's John Meacham and long-time Post reporter Sally Quinn.

"On Faith is dedicated to offering varied perspectives on how religion impacts our lives, and life-changing health conditions are very much a part of that," said Sally Quinn, Co-Founder of On Faith. "We're excited to work with HealthCentral to answer user questions on faith related to health."

HealthCentral will provide On Faith with questions from its popular Q&A feature, drawing user questions on faith from a relevant, specific condition category, beginning in December with depression. Questions answered by the panel this month will involve prayer ("What do you do when you're depressed and your prayers don't seem to be answered?"), suffering ("What role does suffering play in faith...are we expected to suffer?"), overall faith as it relates to healing ("Are people who have faith healthier?"), among others. Questions for December can be submitted here: http://www.healthcentral.com/depression/c/question.

"Our users often discuss the role faith has played in their specific condition, and how it has shaped their experiences with diagnosis and treatment," said Christopher M. Schroeder, CEO of HealthCentral. "This collaboration provides a unique opportunity for people affected by life-changing conditions to learn from a variety of religion experts and discuss the role faith has played in their lives."
