For the fifth year in a row, HealthPlus of Michigan's commercial and Medicare Advantage health plans are recognized by U.S. News & World Report/NCQA as among the nation's best.

The news magazine's 2009-10 list of America's Best Health Insurance Plans, released today, names HealthPlus as one of the top 50 commercial plans, and top 25 Medicare plans, nationwide.

Moreover, HealthPlus of Michigan's Medicare Advantage plans are the highest-ranked Medicare plans in the state this year.

America's Best Health Insurance Plan rankings are based on an analysis of more than 400 health plans by the National Committee for Quality Assurance -- managed care's major accrediting and standards-setting body. NCQA provides U.S. News with comparative data on health plan costs and quality, including how well plans do at preventing and treating illness, and consumer opinions about the ease of making appointments and getting care, doctors' ability to communicate effectively, and satisfaction with claims handling and customer service.
