Infertility Insurance and your pregnancyWhen couples find out that they cannot have children the natural way, they don't lose hope and instead, they look for other ways to have them. This may turn out to be costly and they may not have the immediate money available for such endeavor. Fertility clinics that offer treatments to infertile couples can be hard on the pocket. One popular treatment is the in-vitro fertilization session but it can amount to more than ten thousand dollars. More often than not, it should take more than one or two sessions before some success is met. With every treatment, some standard medications are prescribed as well and these may cost about a thousand dollars or so per month, plus other assisted procedures that could reach to about $4,000. These staggering amounts cannot be met by many couples. Fortunately, there are infertility insurances to assist the couples to have the opportunity to avail of the procedures they require without breaking bank. If you have an existing insurance policy, there is a chance that they also carry infertility insurance. If none, it would be wise to scour around for a good policy that will meet your needs. Most premiums provide a range of choices as to what treatments they cover. These procedures vary from artificial insemination to other laboratory tests. It sometimes includes laparoscopic surgery, medication and even alternative treatments. As rule of thumb, most infertility insurance terms would cover the cheapest and possibly the most effective fertility procedure for the couple. They will also have a time frame to follow for such treatments; the basic would be three or five. Common to most insurance companies, they hardly cover donor eggs and donor sperm conditions. Infertility insurance comes in three forms. One, there is your standard health insurance that has a format of your regular health insurance. The premium is paid every month and the trade off would be the list of covered treatments drafted by the insurance company. Two, are refund programs that expects payment right from the start. The deal would be for the couple to undergo the needed fertility treatments but if it fails, a refund of 70-100% will be given back to the infertile couple. Last but not the least is the financing option. The couple will apply for a loan to pay for the infertility treatments and the loan is paid back upon agreed terms and conditions if the couple was successful in their intent to have a baby or not. Couples are screened to qualify for infertility insurance. Some insurance companies have clauses like the couple should be a holder of other types of insurance with them. Some would prefer couples over the age of 40 as likely candidates. Still, others would look into how long the couple has been trying to conceive. Others would want the couple to hold on to the policy for at least a year prior to using it. There may seem to be a long list of requirements but they must be met to avail of the insurance. This is still one of the best alternative solutions for a couple who dreams of having their own child. After all is said and done, it will be to the couple's advantage to get an infertility insurance because when the baby is there, other expenses will soon pop up and having the insurance can set the new parents at ease in terms of financial liquidity.
